This history of Guru Gobind Singh says that, he had fought and won the battle against the Mughal Chief called 'Alif Khan' and his men. The record also says that, the entire force of this commander Alif Khan was pulled to the river, and Alif Khan flew away! The reason behind such a great battle is that, the Maharaja Bhim Chand (King Bhim Chand) was found to be very weak to fight against the strong Alif Khan, who hired some strong force sent by the Mughal Warrior. Due to the in capability of facing such a strong army, King Bhim Chand went to the Guru Gobind Singh seeking his help. Because of this reason, Guru Gobind Singh had to fight the battle and after the end of the battle, he stayed in Nadaun for 8 more days.
Later, as a pleasant memory of the visit of Guru Gobind Singh, Mahararaja Ranjit Singh planned to construct the Gurudwara, exactly where the Guru Gobind Singh had put his tent for those 8 days. He then named it as "Gurudwara Nadun Sahib". But after few years the same Gurudwara was named as the "Gurudwara Dasvin Patshahi" by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.
